  • Denver, CO (1888PressRelease) March 01, 2011 - Adams County Economic Development (ACED), a non-profit corporation dedicated to expanding the economy of Adams County (www.AdamsCountyED.com), hosted its annual "Adams County Economic Forecast" last week for the county's elected officials, representatives, and primary employers.

This year's event included a comprehensive look at national, state, and local economies by Mark Snead, Assistant Vice President and Denver Branch Executive of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City.

In addition, David Keyser, Economist from the State Demography Office, presented a detailed demographic overview and forecast of Adams County based on new census data and the results of ACED's Primary Employer Survey.

"I have to believe that everyone in attendance was buoyed by the optimism of the presenters," said Barry Gore, ACED's President and CEO. "There's real evidence in virtually every indicator except housing that we're seeing consistent and positive improvement in our economy."

Results of the ACED Primary Employer Survey, which was sent to more than 2,200 primary employers last November, were particularly encouraging. While most of responders were concerned about the condition of the U.S. economy, the overwhelming majority believe that Adams County is favorable to business and that the local job forecast looks to be optimistic.

"Our recovery might be lagging the nation a bit right now, but we're recovering nonetheless," said Marc Stutzman, of RNL Design and ACED's Board Chair-Elect. "My sense is Adams County is a great place to do business, and that ACED does a great job in reinforcing in that notion."
