  • (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2013 - Madrid, Spain - Spanish company The Mad Video has won the prestigious Startup Conference competition. It was the judges' favourite out of the 250 companies that took part when it presented its project to a panel made up of the most renowned investors in Silicon Valley and other international experts.

This award recognises the technology developed by the Spanish company to incorporate additional video information.

"For companies that aren't from here and have fewer contacts, winning competitions of this kind is very important because it helps us to stand out from the crowd and increase our chances of interesting investors", said Koldo García, CEO of The Mad Video.

The company has been working for the past two years at the Spain Tech Center in Silicon Valley. This is a technology centre that helps Spanish companies to take their first steps in the North American market. This centre provides a preparation programme in Spain with further support in the United States, as well as working space in San Francisco.

The Startup Conference coincided with Spain Tech Week in San Francisco, which runs promotional activities and networking events to help spread the word about the potential of Spanish technology. More than 40 Spanish companies took part in it, some of which are already operating or are planning to start operating in Silicon Valley.
