Vallejo-Fairfield, CA (1888PressRelease) November 24, 2015 - A-1 Guaranteed Heating and Air, Inc., premier heating and air conditioning service and repair providers in the Vallejo area, is proud to announce the initiation of its toy drive for homeless children, running now through December 2nd. The public is invited to drop off wrapped or unwrapped gifts that are appropriate for school-age children at A-1 Guaranteed, located at 1768 Broadway in Vallejo.

Krissy Hiteshew of A-1 Guaranteed is determined to make the upcoming holiday season a bit brighter for the homeless children of Vallejo. "People have different feelings about the homeless, but the kids can't help it," she said. "So I thought, 'Why can't we do something for Christmas gifts?'" According to the Solano County Office of Education, almost 400 students within the Vallejo City Unified School District have been identified as being homeless as of June 30.

"I was shocked by the number," Hiteshew said. "It brought tears to my eyes. Those are just the ones who have been identified; I'm sure there are more out there. We just want to give back to our community."

For the past few years, A-1 Guaranteed has been a partner of Vallejo Together, a community organization, and serves as a donation drop-off location all year round. For the Toy Drive for Children, the company is asking for non-electronics and small portable items. If a gift will be dropped off wrapped, the donor is asked to specify the age range and gender of the intended recipient. In addition, school supplies and clothing is also welcome.

Maria Guevara of Vallejo Together called the partnership "wonderful," stating that the partnership will be giving out the gifts to the children who have been identified as homeless. "They don't have to give only during the holiday season," she explains. "They can always drop off things at A-1 Guaranteed. It should be a 365-day thing."
