  • (1888PressRelease) January 30, 2014 - Fleming Gulf's 3rd Annual HR Oman Summit was officially inaugurated on 27th Jan at Intercontinental Muscat, Oman by 'His Excellency AL Sayed Salim Musalam Ali Al-Busaidi, Under-Secretary Of Administrative Development Ministry Of Civil Service, Oman. Aptly themed 'Time For Change- Next Generation HR- Evolution 2.0', the summit hosted over 70 distinguished HR professionals from Oman and other Middle East countries who discussed crucial issues on how to seize new opportunities with value-added HR strategies in today's economic climate.

    Kanupriya Singh; Sr.Producer at Fleming Gulf,  said "The summit will see presentations, debates and discussions on developments with regards to Nationalization and various other HR related challenges Omani companies face everyday.     Day 1 of the summit saw orations from Saif Al Nabhani, Advisor and Director General of Directorate General of Private Health from Ministry Of Health - Oman, Mohammed Al Riyami, Senior Manager, Career Planning from Oman Telecommunications Company, David Al Ashhab, Head of HR - Northern Gulf, Levant and Oman from Standard Chartered Bank and other leading companies who have successfully implemented breakthrough HR strategies.

    Day 1 also showcased a special case study presented by Ian Alexander Fotheringham - Regional HR Manager & HR Consultant from Worley Parsons Oman Engineering LLC on retention strategies used locally and globally. HR solution company and Silver sponsor of the summit; Competence HR also presented their unique approaches to HR challenges currently faced by the professionals in the region.

    Day 2 of the summit continued to see high level panel discussions, break out sessions and presentations from senior HR leaders from Shell International, Oman Shipping Company, Saudi Aramco, The Research Council, Oman, Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel, Schneider Electric and Al Ghubrah Power & Desalination Company. A post-conference workshop on 29 January will reveal new technologies for HR Professionals that will be lead by Patrick Luby of Pat Luby Consulting FZ-LLC followed by a workshop on Innovative learning - A different perspective, which will be lead by Tonia Gray and Mark Pudwell from Competence HR LLC.
