  • (1888PressRelease) November 01, 2026 - TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taiwan's whisky industry has grown from an early monopoly into a diverse craft landscape. Drawing on public records of the Ministry of Finance National Treasury Administration, this release ranks whisky distilleries that publicly disclose their equipment, ordered by total pot-still (or principal batch-still) capacity in litres. Continuous column stills and rectification columns are not counted toward the totals. Operators that have not published still types and exact litre capacities are not ranked.

Operators are grouped by distilling-licence date into three generations: first generation (2002-2004), second generation (2005-2015), and third generation (2016 onward), labels used for organisation only, not to imply differences in technique or quality. The data show a three-tier structure: Kavalan as the flagship of international scale, TTL Nantou as the core of state-owned single malt, and a rising group of private craft distilleries led by Bunnyville. Taiwan whisky is no longer a synonym for a single brand. This ranking is compiled from publicly available information published by each distillery and does not constitute an evaluation of quality, actual output, or market position.
