  • (1888PressRelease) September 11, 2015 - BRECKENRIDGE, CO - Breckenridge Grand Vacations (BGV) was recently awarded with the 2015 Philanthropy Award for Outstanding Large Business from the 25th National Philanthropy Day (NPD) Colorado, a project of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Colorado Chapter. This annual award is given to Colorado companies with 100+ employees that exhibit a dedication to building a philanthropic culture in their organizations through charitable support, and by urging employees to seize opportunities that produce positive effects in the community.

"We are extremely honored to be recognized with this award," said Rob Millisor, one of the three Developers/ Owners of Breckenridge Grand Vacations. "My partners and I have always believed in giving back to the community that we've called Home. As our success grew, we felt even more committed to supporting Breckenridge, and our recent endowment to the Summit Foundation will ensure that support well into the future." Rob Millisor and his partners, Mike Millisor and Mike Dudick strive to exemplify the values of civic service, and have stated that they take pride when their employees do the same.

Not only has BGV donated over $4.8 million to nonprofits in the past decade and more than $300,000 in cash contributions annually, but they also promote community projects and a plethora of fundraising events throughout the area. Recent contributions to Summit County include $250,000 in 2014 to support the St. Anthony Summit Medical Center in Frisco , $500,000 for the restoration of "The Breckenridge Grand Vacations Community Center", a historic building now featuring meeting space, a public library, movie theater and coffee shop and in May, 2015, $1 million toward the creation of an endowment for the Summit Foundation.

The Developers are clearly passionate about helping others, and have successfully ingrained this value into the core of their company's culture. Millisor went on to add, "BGV employees participate in the company giving culture via direct deductions from pay checks (which totaled almost $40,000 in 2014).  Additionally, employees participate in giving to the voluntary Employee Assistance Fund, which raised $39,000 in 2014 and helped multiple employees with unexpected expenses to the tune of $29,000."

While contributions from the company have undoubtedly supported the community, BGV's volunteering and fundraising efforts extend their impact even further. Employees donate countless hours of volunteer time to many nonprofit projects including providing manual labor during the Friends of Dillon Ranger District Peak's Trail Day, selling Rubber Ducks for the Summit Foundation's Great Rubber Ducky Race, organizing teams and participating in charitable events such as the Romp to Stomp Out Breast Cancer, BGV Golf Tournament, Family Intercultural Resource Center Annual Fashion Show, and Dancing with the Mountain Stars benefitting the Summit Medical Center. Additionally, many BGV executives and employees invest in the community by sitting on numerous nonprofit boards in an effort to continue enhancing the quality of life in Summit County.
