  • (1888PressRelease) November 18, 2010 - Bobcaygeon, Ont. - Transforming the concepts and dreams of customers into custom built log or timber frame homes is still the core business of 1867 Confederation Log & Timber Frame Homes.

But at this year's Cottage Life Show, Confederation plans to showcase one of the company's fastest growth areas - home and cottage improvement projects, projects that range from timber frame accents to new entranceways to outdoor sunrooms.

And to make sure this message comes across loud and clear, a Confederation-built timber frame structure will be the focal point of the show's 'Outdoor Canada Lodge', a large 50x40 foot booth that will welcome visitors as they enter the show. The Outdoor Canada Lodge is designed to capture the essence of the show and impart a 'classic outdoor Canadian setting' and in addition to Confederation's white pine timber frame structure, will include such iconic elements as an ice fishing hut, a tent, a snowmobile, antique decoys and a Muskoka Brewery sampling bar.

"There's still a strong interest on the part of consumers to build log and timber frame homes or a hybrid of the two," observes 1867 Confederation Log and Timber Frame Home president Rick Kinsman. "But in terms of numbers, there are a lot more people out there who are looking at creative ways they can enhance and add value to their existing cottage or home."

Kinsman says number one on the list of enhancements customers come to them for is to design and build timber frame accents either for a great room or to enhance the exterior of a home. These can be either structural and capable of bearing a load or simply cosmetic. "It's the type of upgrade that makes people feel better about their homes and it can also add to the bottom line appeal and value of your home."

Whether looking to enhance an existing home or build a new one, Confederation will have professional design consultants on hand throughout the show at their booth #1620 to answer any questions show attendees may have.
