14 Tractor-Trailers “A Total Loss” in Massive Fire at Trucking Company

- New York, NY (1888PressRelease) August 27, 2019 - Holland, NY – Officials are investigating the cause of a massive fire on Tuesday night at a trucking company in Holland.
According to the Holland Volunteer Fire Department (HVFD), at least 14 semi-trucks were set ablaze on Tuesday night at Draper Trucking Company located at 400 N. Main Street.
Local news outlets reported witnesses could see the large billows of smoke for miles after a garage caught fire that spread.
The Holland Fire Chief said crews were called to the scene at approximately 5:3o p.m.
Numerous explosions were reported which the chief said were likely the semi-trucks’ gas tanks and tires.
According to numerous news outlets, the devastation is being described as “a total loss.”
Fire crews battled the inferno for an hour and were able to prevent a larger explosion from happening as a large gas tank was located nearby, according to the fire chief.
A total of eighteen fire departments from around the area reportedly responded to fight the blaze, including the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.
