  • Colorado Springs, CO (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2020 - Today, 1350 Distilling of Colorado Springs, Colorado announced a portion of bottle sale proceeds from September 1-12, 2020 will be donated to the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO’s Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial Fund (The Fund). 1350 Distilling announced earlier this month the release of their sixth spirit dedicated to first responders and firefighters: the Five Alarm Cinnamon Fire Bourbon. 1350 Distilling has since pledged 13.50% of the sale of each bottle of Five Alarm Bourbon will be donated to The Fund which assists with hosting the annual Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial (The Memorial) held the weekend after the 9/11 memorial weekend.

The Five Alarm Bourbon is currently available for pre-order purchase online at 1350Distilling.com. In-person sales and pick-up of online purchases begin Friday, September 11, 2020 at 4pm at 1350 Distilling’s Taste Lounge at 520 E. Pikes Peak Avenue in Downtown Colorado Springs. Both on-line and in-person purchases are included in the fundraising event happening through Saturday, September 12, 2020.
The Memorial is an annual event hosted by the Local 5 IAFF Colorado Springs Chapter. Each year names of firefighters across America and Canada who have passed “in the line of duty” are added to the Wall of Honor Memorial housed in Colorado Springs’ Memorial Park. This year 245 names will be added.

The Fund provides Honorees’ family members and loved ones’ travelling expenses, food, and lodging to attend each year’s Wall of Honor Ceremony. At the Memorial, Honorees’ names are announced and their family is presented with an American flag acknowledging their Honoree’s ultimate sacrifice.

“Last year we raised $315.56 with a similar fundraising event,” explained Jake Weien, Vice President of 1350 Distilling. “We witnessed the superb hospitality the local firefighters and their families provide the thousands of visitors to Colorado Springs each year for this event. We have a great respect and appreciation for the experience they provide these humans at a time of great, painful loss. We want to help contribute, even in these tough times.”

1350 Distilling’s name is inspired by the 13 stripes and 50 stars of the Star Spangled Banner. Each of their products represent a different branch of the military with the last two spirits being dedicated to law enforcement, first responders, and firefighters.
