10th Annual Augusta Plein Air Event

Top Quote 2012 marks the 10th year of the Augusta Plein Air event, which features talented artists from throughout the Midwest, painting in the "Plein Air" style at various locations throughout the area.   • St. Louis, MO-IL (1888PressRelease) March 24, 2012 - Rolling hills, lush farmland, and cascading vineyards provide inspiration for artists and the public to enjoy spring in wine country for the 10th annual Plein Air Art Event.

    The charm and hospitality of the area has caused this once small affair to transform into a 10 day event showcasing over 100 award-winning artists. Several locally based wineries and businesses will be hosting the artists for a day of painting in which the public is invited.

    Some special events include: A Welcome social at Blumenhof Winery; Breakfast at Frisella Nursery; An afternoon of painting at Chandler Hill Vineyards followed by a Premiere Artist Dinner; Sunset Paint at Balducci Vineyard; A Car Show and stroll through Defiance; Breakfast and Hot Air Balloon Rides at at Noboleis Vineyard and an afternoon of painting at Montelle Winery with a Mary Engelbreit book signing and much, much more.

    A social hour is also scheduled at the conclusion of each day's events, where the public will be afforded the unique opportunity to not only meet their favorite artist, but purchase some of their work.

    The 10 day event culminates at Mount Pleasant Estates with an opportunity to mingle with the artists at a St.Charles Symphony Dinner on April 27th and an award ceremony and public sale on Saturday on April 28th.

    The Greater Augusta Chamber invites lovers of art, the outdoors and all things visually alluring to come out and bask in the natural beauty of Missouri Wine Country and witness firsthand the age-old tradition of Plein Air painting.
