1,000 Pounds of Food Donated by Hepatitis B Foundation and PA Biotechnology Center

  • (1888PressRelease) December 14, 2012 - DOYLESTOWN, PA - For a sixth consecutive year the staff, scientists, and entrepreneur companies generously donated non-perishable food items plus monetary donations to help feed local community members who need assistance at this time. The annual holiday food drive is sponsored by the Hepatitis B Foundation and the Pennsylvania Biotechnology Center, which the Foundation created to accelerate its research mission, and the combined generosity resulted in over 1,095 pounds of food items plus cash donations totaling $1,600 for the Bucks County Housing Group food pantry.

    Teams at the Center competed to bring in a wide variety of food from cereals, pasta, canned fruit, baby food and much more! Additionally, Kellogg Snacks of Horsham, Moody Movers of Doylestown and Pina's Pizza of Chalfont were also generous partners in the annual holiday food drive. Kellogg Snacks donated boxes of cereals and breakfast bars; Moody Movers provided a truck and drivers to transport the food to the pantry; and Pina's Pizza of Chalfont donated a pizza lunch to the winning team that collected the largest amount of food and donations.
