  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) March 02, 2011 - Fresh off the Oscar® week for Cedric Sanders and his featured role in the critically acclaimed and award winning film, "The Social Network," Sanders next stop is the Miami Film Festival for the premiere of his starring role in rapper/actor 50 Cent's "Things Fall Apart." Sanders plays 50 Cent's brother in the family drama generating a lot of buzz. Taking center stage at the festival on Saturday March 5, 2011, the film premieres at 9:45PM at the Gusman Theater.

Excited to attend the festival, Sanders says, "I'm proud to have been a part of this film. Working with 50 Cent was truly inspiring. We'd have a break from rehearsals and he [50 Cent] would immediately head outside to workout. For the role he lost a dramatic 54lbs, very impressive."

Directed by Mario Van Peebles (New Jack City, Panther, Baadassss!) and Produced by Jackson's company Cheetah Vision Films, "Things Fall Apart" features 50 Cent as an All-American high school football star who's career is tragically jeopardized. Sanders plays 50 Cent's younger brother, Sean, who supports Jackson as he undergoes an astonishing physical transformation as Deon Barnes, a promising Michigan football running back who dreams of one day getting drafted by the Miami Dolphins.

Sanders commented, "My character is practical, awkward, book smart, and has lived in the shadow of his older brother his whole life. When tragedy strikes, the relationship between the two brothers really transforms." Sanders says he turned down other lead offers for the challenge of the character and his relationship with 50 Cent's character.

Continuing to take top-notch roles, Sanders got his start opposite Jessica Alba and Paul Rudd in his breakout film "The Ten." His next few films included "American Gangster" opposite Oscar® winner Denzel Washington, and the leading role in "The Least Among You" with Oscar® winner Lou Gossett Jr. His next lead role in "Rocksteady," directed by Mustapha Khan, about the world of stock car racing set to reggae soundscape, is currently a hit on the festival circuit.

Called "Hollywood's newest find" by Starzlife, he also won an NAACP Theatre Award for his stellar lead performance in "A Matter of Honor" and a Best Actor Award for "The Least Among You" at the SDBFF. Sanders' career is definitely on the fast track.

Cedric Sanders will be in attendance at the Miami Film Festival and available for interviews.
