    About the Author:
John Phipps was born in Greater London and grew up during World War II. He experienced all the emotions connected to it. Excitement, sadness, fear and finally relief.

Educated at Greenford County Grammar School, he started work in an accounts office of a major firm in London.

He spent most of his working life as a Technical Sales Engineer and Sales Manager for various companies, gaining experience of many industries.

John is now retired, and his other interests are in theatre, Painting, Golf and now writing.

John published his first e-book 'LIVING THROUGH A WAR' on Kindle in 2012 and as a paperback on Amazon. This is a factual account of John's experiences growing up during WW2, and reflects the feelings and events experienced by John and his family. It is a lighter look at WW2 through the eyes of a youngster of seven years old at the outbreak of war. It is a humorous and sometimes poignant account.

John's latest book, 'PROTECTING PINS AND PASSWORDS', was published on Kindle in July 2014. This is aimed at internet users who, like the author, are fed up with passwords being hacked, and having to change them all the time! It is written in plain English and offers a lot of ideas for the average computer user to help protect their security data online.

    Excerpt from THE MALTA ENIGMA:
"George gently stroked Katherine's face with both hands, and said. 'Kate, the last few days have been wonderful and I am so thrilled that we have become close, but you're right! We mustn't spoil things by being too eager! I agree that we should take things slowly.'

They walked hand in hand to the door of her room, where she opened the door and turned to him again, touched his arm lightly, and said, 'Good night Georgie darling.' He responded to her gentle touch, and standing in the doorway, said 'Good night Kate, sleep well!' embracing her once more, and giving her another long, long, passionate kiss.

'Someone's coming!' Katherine said as they became aware of footsteps in the corridor, and realised that they were still in the open doorway!

'Goodnight then!' George said, taking her hands, 'See you tomorrow!'

'Yes! Until tomorrow!' She answered wistfully, brushing her finger tips across his hands in a final goodbye."

The Malta Enigma by John Phipps is available through all good booksellers including Amazon.
