Following her mother's death, Fiona is put into State care. She doesn't know her absent father was the disgraced God of Love. Growing up, she suffers abuse and bullying and begins to see Otherworld creatures such as trolls and faeries, and worries for her sanity. Fiona discovers she has a physical strength beyond what is normal, but is branded as violent and held in an Institution for the criminally insane. She is released on her 18th birthday into a hostel in Dublin City, Ireland. Fiona has to figure out how to survive on the tough streets of Dublin and in the Otherworld.

    Excerpt from the Book:
"Druid Lochlain regarded the three Drimnagh Witches with a mixture of distaste and admiration. They were the genuine articles. He could smell witch and they cackled nervously when he met their eyes. Once attractive, they had weathered with age and despite lively blue eyes each looked like a bundle of rags. And they had been weathering for a long time.

That said, they were the lead team in spell casting contracted to the Faerie Queen.

Druid Lochlain was a cautious man and he always cast a number of counter spells in advance of any arranged meeting with the three witches. Just to be sure to be sure.

"Brandon, Sperrin and Mourne, how are you all? It's been a time since we talked," he said with more effusiveness than he felt.

They all cackled nervously. Beings were not asked to meet with Druid Lochlain just to pass pleasantries. They wondered what he wanted and how it would affect them.

"We've been busy on the borders of the Faerie Kingdom shoring up isolation spells against Underworld. Those Ghouls and Zombie monsters are always testing the border defences. If they could, they'd pour in and we'd have pandemonium," Brandon said, speaking for her sisters."
