“The Dream of Endymion” by Hilary Ellis is published

    About the Book:
Boy meets girl but in this tale, the heroine, Alice, falls for a youth, Robbie, some years her junior. Alice is in the stages of recognising special abilities possessed by herself and her twin brother Paul, and of coming to realisation of her true nature, which sets her and Paul aside from others.

A romance in the true sense, where love proceeds in the face of adversity, and one which presents challenges to convention.

The tale is set in England in the 1960s and early 1970s.

    About the Author:
    To quote:

“I attended grammar school and subsequently pursued a professional career. I am married with two children. I have always enjoyed participation in sport. I met my partner on a trip to Paris: we spotted one another on the cross channel ferry, realised where our relationship was headed whilst visiting the Museum of Modern Art and then found ourselves snogging outside the Folies Bergere, so maybe I am a romantic! Otherwise, pretty ordinary!”

    Excerpt from the book:
“There were messages for everyone in the room; in the case of Keith, it was his late grandfather who made contact; Aunt Ellie said that she was shown a burning house and a box of what she thought were coins; Keith confirmed that his late grandfather’s house had burnt down and that he, Keith, had a box of his grandfather’s medals. With Robbie, Aunt Ellie described firstly a tall woman who said she took a special interest in him and whom he identified as his late aunt, his father’s sister; there was also a teenage boy whom Aunt Ellie described as gasping for air and whom all the friends present identified as a late school friend who had drowned on holiday in the Lake District. Aunt Ellie went on to say for Robbie that she saw him in the future surrounded by papers and right at the end she said: “You will be so happy”. For a group of sceptical teenagers, they were mightily impressed by Aunt Ellie’s abilities.

Aunt Ellie came to Alice last: “What can I say to you, Alice, if that be your name, though men have called you by other names?” She paused with a smile. “What can I say that you do not already know? You are revered, the spirits make way for you. Your journey will be fulfilled, you will enjoy fertility”.

“Your spirit world companion is with you, at your feet. Your path may not always be straightforward but your love will ripen and you will know fulfilment.”

Robbie’s friends could not understand what was happening; they heard Aunt Ellie’s words to Alice but the meaning did not sink in; only Robbie gained a clear impression of what was being said but even then, did not fully comprehend.”
