  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) January 19, 2012 - Media Partners, Incorporated (MPI), a full-service marketing firm known for its growing expertise in healthcare, took home three prestigious 'Wallies' at a recent award presentation sponsored by the Carolinas Public Relations and Marketing Society (CHPRMS) in Asheville, N.C.

The Wallie Awards are given annually at the CHPRMS Fall Conference to recognize excellence in healthcare public relations and marketing. Members compete in more than a dozen categories and a panel of healthcare professionals chooses the winners. MPI received the honors for a multi-media campaign created for Central Carolina Hospital (CCH) in Sanford, N.C., with a compelling message about breast cancer.

"It is a great honor for our team to be recognized by the industry and our peers," said Sal Conino, agency partner at MPI. "Working with local community hospitals gives us an opportunity to work directly with the CEO and his internal marketing team. That cohesiveness allows for great concepting and strong messaging."

An inspired mixture of healthcare concerns, with art and design backed by strategic marketing, earned MPI and CCH a gold award for billboard category and a silver for specialty print/consumer publications. A third award was given for the complete Think Pink! mixed media campaign featuring the hospital's TV commercial, YouTube video as well as the BreastNavigator.com website.

Four community-minded business women were the centerpiece of the campaign urging females to "Empower Yourself, Learn More, Take Charge and Think Pink!" Leveraging the color pink synonymous with breast cancer, the women are presented taking action in their surroundings. In the blink of an eye, a pitcher of lemonade turns pink. With the tip of a paint bucket, a wave of pink paint appears. Meanwhile, copy directs women to CCH's online 'breast navigator,' urging them to 'think pink' and take charge of their health by scheduling mammograms.

The integrated campaign reached its target audience well, and women responded. In fact, a hospital survey showed a 200% increase since 2009 in awareness for CCH's breast navigator. The message has also evolved beyond breast cancer to promote "Take Charge, Tuesdays," a new CCH branded term for promoting health and wellness events at Central Carolina Hospital.

"We thank Central Carolina Hospital for allowing us to support their important work, and we are committed to delivering strategic creative design and marketing strategies that assist them in reaching their long-term goals," said Nancy Bono, MPI agency partner.
