  • (1888PressRelease) April 21, 2016 - "Some Very Short Stories" by Kurt Stern, About the Book: It is the author's intention to keep these "Very Short Stories" as brief as possible so as not to bore the reader, rewarding him with a surprise and a twist in each one. All the events described are fiction. The author was privileged to live in different continents and countries enabling him to refer to a variety of mentalities yet proving that the sense of humour prevailing in each story is common to all sections of human nature. The reader will enjoy the surprising narratives, most of them with a twist at the end.

    About the Author:
Kurt Stern was born 1927 in the German town of Cologne. He emigrated with his parents to London in January 1939 where they stayed for eighteen months. Thereafter they continued to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he remained for 17 years.

    Excerpts from the Book:
Taken from "The Extraordinary Case of Mr Norman Arkwright":
"As Mr Arkwright ordered coffee for all participants and they were about to sit down for an informal chat Mr Milner got up, rushed toward the window and jumped, to the shock and consternation of all parties present. What had driven Mr Milner to commit such a spectacular suicide?"

    Charlotte: Because I'm his mother."
