  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) July 31, 2013 - Catalano states: " Every professional actor needs to have at least two monologues ready to go. It is essential to present material that is right for your age, ethnicity and gender when auditioning for a prospective agent, theatre company or conservatory acting school. Monologues are a great way for others to be able to see how you perform prepared material. They want to be able to get a sense of what you can do, who you are and how you connect in a room. You need to really connect to the material you do and it needs to be short and sweet.

They just want a sample which showcases you, not the whole presentation" Catalano is a faculty member at the School of Dramatic Arts at the University of Southern California. On acting classes he states: "A good monologue is an essential tool in any acting class. It helps the acting teacher get an idea of what you can do with prepared material and also provides insight on the areas of you acting skills that need to be improved upon. A good monologue for this purpose is one that is short, to the point and clearly gives the acting teacher an idea what you can do."

He has also written and performed in animated television series and feature films including DIGIMON DIGITAL MONSTERS, THE ADVENTURES OF DYNAMO DUCK for Fox TV, the sci-fi series ROBOTECH and ABC television series including LA LAW, NYPD BLUE, MURDER ONE, CIVIL WARS and UGLY BETTY.
