  • (1888PressRelease) July 21, 2020 - Dr Richa Singh worked for five years as a physiotherapist, was successful but still craved for something more. During Master Strokes – a teatime conversations with the Alumni of IIHMR Bangalore (PGDHM 2012-14 batch) held on May 15th, 2020, Dr Richa shared her dreams, wanting to do something different, started her own company ‘Perfect Bounce’ in HSR layout in IT City – Bangalore.

    Answering a volley of questions during the Master Strokes – what shaped her ideas, gave her confidence to become an entrepreneur, how to manage….. many more questions, Dr Richa said emphatically “Choosing a post graduate programme in Hospital Management at IIHMR Bangalore gave me the edge”. Courses like Medical Terminology, Health Insurance, Patient care management, organization behaviour and internships helped her fine tune her managerial and leadership skills. ‘Teachers and friends were so supportive that I continued to work part time and attend classes, do assignments etc’ is what she said about her experiences.

    Now running her own company ‘Perfect Bounce’ – for physiotherapy rehabilitation and pain management, successfully, she looks back at her two-year programme at IIHMR Bangalore with fondness and says ‘…team work, multiple assignments, hospital visits, friends, teachers, life in Bangalore – all worked out to be just perfect’. She is now a ‘motivational speaker’ to college goers and school kids, giving back to community (physiotherapy camps in her hometown in Bihar), conducting on-line therapy during COVID 19… Dr Richa is leading a very fulfilling professional life.

    Dr Richa said, “Bangalore is a metro city and choosing Bangalore for doing masters in Hospital and Health Management has an added benefit. All major corporate hospitals, healthcare IT companies and NGO’s are in Bangalore. Choosing a healthcare management is not a problem, but one should decide first, definitely commit to work hard, need not get confused, may be plan to become entrepreneur later’. To questions from participants on ‘placements’, Dr Richa said – IIHMR Bangalore provides 100% placement support and more vacancies are generated than the number of students, ‘we have to perform well’. She further added ‘I was clear, I wanted to become an entrepreneur, I prioritized my options, so started my own company in Physiotherapy’.

    Her final tips ‘One more thing I’ll tell you that, two years of college studies in IIHMR Bangalore, will shape your career choice and life – everything. So, you start analysing yourself, your own SWOT and go ahead and make the choice?’
