  • (1888PressRelease) March 22, 2011 - Motivational Speaker, writer, film producer and director, and entrepreneur Earnest Harris has released his first book, the anticipated breakdown of his philosophy of success, "Never Settle Again: Living A Life With No Regrets." The book is already available online everywhere, either to purchase the paperback or as an ebook, and will soon be available via Barnes & Noble, Amazon and other online and offline retailers.

Earnest Harris is a Burbank, California-based writer and a true "Renaissance man," someone who is talented and active in several areas of the humanities. He is a co-founder, along with his wife, Dianna Perales Harris, of several businesses involved in various aspects of the entertainment business, from films, TV to publicity and talent management, as well as the owner and founder of a clothing line dedicated to helping make a difference in cultural and ethnic relationships, he's an award-winning journalist and writer, and he is a feature film producer and director as well, with one successful film already under his belt and another in early pre-production now. So writing a book on going after your dreams was not a stretch for him. Not only did he have the ability and skills to write it, he also lives the philosophy and success he espouses.

"Writing this book has been a life-long process in a way," said Harris. "The beliefs, principles and philosophies I live by have been gained from my family and from studying, watching and learning the habits of a lot of people along the way to now. And for me, once I had a sense of what it is I wanted to do, or even what I didn't want to do with my life, I have found that there is no other way to live except to live it in pursuit of one's dreams. I found the penalty for not doing that, living with regrets, was far worse than any fear of failure."

In addition to condensing his outlook and motivational and inspirational philosophy into a written format, Harris has also decided to make himself more available to speak to groups and organizations. His primary audience, the one he feels his message is most geared to are those that are at transitional stages of their lives, trying to make a decision about their life pursuits, like young people, college audiences and adults, no matter the age, who are questioning what it is they have chosen to do with their lives and need help making the leap from one path to another.

Harris said, "What I am good at, I suppose, and what the book does well I believe, is make people see that most of the time we let our lives be dictated not by what we want or dream about, but by what others think and a fear, rooted in past failures or criticisms, that we just don't have what it takes to really be or do whatever it is we really want to do. So we settle for the safe route or option. Which is O.K. to a degree, but I think the result all too often are unhappy people deep down, which leads to all kinds of other problems."

The book, which is already available on Lulu.com with the other outlets coming soon, covers such topics as saying no to negative people, there is no failure, being bold, the preciousness of life, eliminating the word "can't" from your vocabulary, and happiness being a choice, among others. There are also chapters on others who have pursued their dreams or who serve as examples of the principles covered in the book, including Oprah Winfrey, Donald Trump, and Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling.
