  • Nashville, TN (1888PressRelease) September 30, 2012 - "You're My Superhero" beckons listeners to come along on an emotional, hook-driven roller coaster ride. It pays homage to Shervelle's enduring love of Superman that started when he was a kid, his improbable journey from New Jersey rocker to Nashville recording artist, and his wife Kristina, who stood by him and helped him win the battle of the bottle and overcome other long odds.

Legendary Nashville hit writer Jimbeau Hinson calls Shervelle "one of the hardest working newcomers I have met in recent years… a stand-up great guy who pours his heart and soul into everything he does. I've seen him grow in leaps and bounds as a writer, an entertainer, and a networker. This guy is here to play with the big boys."

"You're My Superhero" features 14 original songs. "Be The Superman," "All I Want To Do Is Drive," and Too Rock for Nashville" bring the listener along Shervelle's evolution from painfully shy kid to lost teenager to the determined, confident person and performer who is making up for lost time and living life to its fullest. "You're My Superhero" and "Steel" are testaments to the fact that that the transformation would not have been possible without his wife Kristina.

Other songs are inspired by experiences that most listeners can relate to: the tension-filled "Last Night Last" recalls an encounter with an old flame, while "Blue Swirls," captures the feeling of falling deeply in love. In Shervelle's words, "I thrive on singing about love, life, and the journey that got me to where I am today."

Shervelle says his fascination with Superman began when he saw his first Superman movie as a kid. "My mom got me Superman PJ's and I've been hooked ever since," he says." Shervelle always wears a Superman T-shirt when he performs, and says his collection now numbers "130 and counting."

For very CD sold Shervelle will donate $1 to the Christopher Reeve Foundation, dedicated to curing spinal cord injury by funding innovative research, and improving the quality of life for people living with paralysis through grants, information and advocacy.
