  • (1888PressRelease) November 27, 2011 - The extraordinaire rock concert held at HUDA gymkhana, Gurgaon on 23rd November 2011 aimed to generate environment awareness among the society through music. The venue was packed to capacity and the audience couldn't stop enjoying and appreciating the bands.

    Music has always left its footprints on masses. The musicians who united at the concert to sustain the environment left the audience spellbound by their performances. The American band Solar Punch rocked the stage with their compositions that aimed at generating ecological activism while the Indian rock band Parikrama spread the word by singing compositions like "Don't cut me down". Kabul and his band Rock Veda dedicated their performance to Mother Earth & Nature and gave power packed performance.

    Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Founder, Routes 2 Roots said: "Today we all are busy in our lives. The natural calamity that we are facing all over the world is happening because there is a misbalance in the environment. It becomes our duty to save the environment and it is a priority for the time. Music is one of the most powerful mediums to communicate and this is the reason we have organised this concert. "My Earth My Duty" is an initiative from Routes 2 Roots & Advit Foundation in association with ICCR to deliver the message to the world to save environment".

    A special awareness campaign was launched to make the common people join the movement of saving the planet earth by coming in car pools, public transport for this concert. Most of the lighting in the auditorium was from Solar Charged source. The invites were printed on recycled paper, generators ran on Bio Diesel. Special recognition was given to people who have contributed to nature/climate by plantations. This was the first eco friendly initiative in India and was Zero Carbon Foot Print concert. The carbon emissions will be audited by CMS/ Rajiv Gandhi Renewable Energy Park. Solar punch travelled around Delhi & Gurgaon in a mini van having solar panels on the roof to charge their instruments.

    Routes 2 Roots, an NGO, endeavors to bring together people, cultures & values across SAARC countries, in particular India & Pakistan. Routes 2 Roots plans, organize, execute and markets events and exhibitions that play a vital role in generating harmony closeness & brotherhood between neighbors.
