    Bangalore 23rd November 2012: The three day Herbalife Bangalore School Games 2012 concluded at Kanteerava Stadium with the loud cheers and applause from the budding sporting talents of Bangalore City. The closing ceremony was graced by International athletes/Arjuna Awardees like Ashish Ballal, Reeth Abraham and Dr MP Ganesh.

    The prizes for the winners of the various athletic events received awards and trophies from Metod Klemenc, Founder of International Children Games-Children Olympics.

    The 2nd edition of Herbalife Bangalore School Games witnessed sporting stars from the best schools of Bangalore like Christ, Delhi Public School, Baldwins, Green Wood High, Kensri among others performing hard to win the title for their schools. It proved to be an excellent platform to inculcate team building and competitive spirit in these young talents. The desire, dream and vision was clearly seen in the eyes of each of the participants who were trying to perform their best in each of the events. Greenwood High girls and boys football team won the trophy beating their competitors. In the girls category for Basketball, KV Hebbal stole the show abeating DPS South and in the boys category DPS South won over Christ School.

    Reeth Abraham, Arjuna Awardee Athlete, said " These young talents need to be nurtured at the right age. They need constant support and professional guidance to achieve milestones in their careers and grab the right opportunity to showcase their skills. For me every child who participated here is a champion, one needs to grow step by step in life. Sports is a very important part of a child's life, schools and coaches should ensure that the future of our nation gets the right direction"

    For the first time in the country, children living with HIV/AIDS had participated , and had been the torch bearers for this event to break the barriers of stigma nad discrimaination.
