  • (1888PressRelease) December 16, 2013 - Bangkok - Immigration had set up a temporary office on the 5th floor of the Imperial World Ladprao shopping complex, with the office at the Government Complex Center forced to temporarily close due to the political unrest in the Thai capital. The Government Complex Center was among the locations targeted in the recent street protests.

While in operation, the office at Imperial World Ladprao was open from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm Monday to Friday (except on public holidays). There were entrances to the office from inside the shopping complex itself and from the car park, on the 5th floor.

A statement from Immigration Division 1 said services at the Imperial World Ladprao office were to suspended as of Monday 16 December, except for workers from the three countries Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar.

"Instead of having to visit the Imperial World Ladprao immigration office for their Thailand work permit, 90 day reporting or other Thai visa service, foreigners can once again now use the dedicated immigration office at the Government Complex Center in Chaeng Wattana" advised Apisakdi Kongkangwanchoke, spokesman for BSA Law, an international law firm in Thailand.

The temporary office in Ladprao had been handling the requirements of people who otherwise would have been visiting the Chaeng Wattana office. It had been doing so with only around 20 immigration staff counters and limited space inside the office.

The Immigration Division 1 office at the Government Complex Center is open from Monday to Friday (except on public holidays). More information is available at the www.immigration.co.th website.
