December 08, 2010 - Dr. Goel's election was a change after a long time and for the first time an Asian American could win such a prestigious position. Dr. Goel is a professional engineer with over 25 years experience in land development. His goal as Chairman is to run the meetings very efficiently, promote green technologies, and enhance a welcoming environment between the Town, its citizens and its businesses. He currently manages three businesses named Goels Plaza, LLC, the largest privately-owned banquet facility in Eastern Carolina; NFE Technologies, Inc., a leading consulting firm in NC, and A2 Design + Build, LLC.
Mr. Goel is also serving as a Board Member on the NC State Bar Council, appointed by the Govenor.
Mr. Goel is married to Vibha, who has a masters in Architecture, and they have two children, Nikita, a student at Georgetown School of Medicine in Washington DC, and son, Nitin, a senior at Panther Creek High School.
