Aside from the convenience of freshly brewed coffee at a moment's notice, the mojoe™ inventors have also designed coffee filters with mobility in mind - simply use the mojoe™ filter to scoop your own coffee and store it cleanly with a snap cap until you are ready to pop it in the mojoe™ and brew. This buzzing start-up is offering the mojoe™ for pre-order on their website, http://www.mojoebrewing.com, for $69 for a limited time. Pre-ordered mojoe's™ are to arrive right before Christmas, where the general release will be launched in early 2015.
With over half of America drinking 1-2 cups of coffee per day, it is indeed a surprise that a mobile coffee maker doesn't yet exist. "mojoe™ solves a problem that any coffee drinker can relate to" says Joseph Hyman, Founder of MoJoe Brewing Co., "You can brew at home with a Keurig machine. You can go through the drive thru. But what you can't do today, is brew your coffee on-the-go, for example, in your car as you rush to work or at a football game in December."
The brewing method that mojoe™ employs is incredibly innovative - instead of using gravity (i.e. drip coffee) or pumps, mojoe™ uses the energy of the vapor pressure from the heated water to push the water through the device and into the coffee filter. The engineers from MoJoe Brewing Co. borrowed this concept from vacuum/siphon coffee brewing, a little less known method of brewing a cup of joe.
