  • (1888PressRelease) February 03, 2016 - Clearwater, Florida - One hundred and seventy-two visitors attending "Blast Friday" (downtown Clearwater's monthly free concert on Cleveland at Fort Harrison Avenue) took the opportunity to watch informational videos from the displays, ask questions about Scientology and enjoy refreshments in the Scientology Information Center.

"This is the second large-scale community event that the center has held since its opening on July 11th 2015", stated the Manager, Amber Skjelset. "The event brought tons of locals, and many visitors from all over the world. They got a chance to enjoy the concert and learn something new about Scientology and its founder, L. Ron Hubbard."

One guest summed up his visit stating, "Actions speak louder than words - the fact that these doors are open, and that anyone can come in and find out for themselves [what Scientology is] is a really big deal. I've lived down here for six years, and this is really cool to see. It means a lot to me."

The Center is housed in the lobby of the historic Clearwater Building which was originally built in 1918. It was the home of the first Bank of Clearwater.

It was transformed into an information center which is open for all residents and visitors. It offers guests the opportunity to peruse 4 audio-visual displays covering different aspects of Scientology. One of the most popular videos at the Open House was the 10 minute biographical video on the life and legacy of L. Ron Hubbard, Scientology's Founder.

The Scientology Information Center hosts a variety of receptions for local civic, and social groups and organizations. It is open from 10 am to 10 pm daily for tours, offers and makes its conference room available to social, civic and nonprofit groups.
