  • (1888PressRelease) May 07, 2010 - Lebanon Transit has awarded its all-encompassing rebranding and marketing contract to York, PA-based Holberg Design. The award-winning firm was selected (from a group of agencies various in size and location) because of its fresh approach to multimedia communications and its branding expertise.

The transit company makeover features a name change and new brand, including a new logo, fleet designs, updated signage, route maps, and two websites (see the first at www.commuteking.org), along with radio and print advertising. The transit agency, formerly COLT, is now known as LT (Lebanon Transit).

Holberg Design timed the unveiling of the new brand to coincide with LT's launch of its first-ever service to Harrisburg this month. The new service, which the ad agency named the Commute King Express, offers direct rides to Harrisburg with limited stops in Lebanon, Palmyra and in the capital.

The ad agency's strategy for the rebranding, based on in-depth market research, is aimed at raising much-needed awareness to attract new riders. The ad campaign communicates how LT's services offer choices that help riders of all economic strata save money, reduce traffic and lower emissions in the environment.

Company President Richard Holberg states, "We felt the former name did not capture what the transit agency represented in the new millennium. During the creative research phase, we began to understand who our new target new audience is. We wanted to reach the working professionals who have cars but never really considered riding public transportation. So, we created a new brand message that helps convey transit's environment-helping, traffic-reducing, money-saving benefits -these are the key points this target audience cares about and will help to convert them into believers. Currently this demographic thinks of public transportation as a last resort and their cars as a first, the ultimate long-term brand goal is to literally reverse that way of thinking."

LT Executive Director Theresa Giurintano calls Holberg Design's rebrand "very exciting, very fresh." Giurintano says, "I love the whole concept. It's better than what I had hoped for. I like the route they're taking, the new website, everything about it. We're very pleased."

Lebanon, with a population over 130,000, is ranked sixth in the nation for metropolitan areas of its size as a place to locate a business, according to a national publication, and as one of the "top areas" by Central Penn Business Journal.

Holberg concludes, "We are very excited to work with Lebanon Transit, as they provide an important service to the community, its residents and commuters. And, an effective transit system can take thousands of cars off the road, which helps alleviate traffic congestion, helps residents save money and time, and even helps save our planet."

Holberg Design has received multiple awards, including several ADDY Golds and recognition for Best Logo, Best Advertising Campaign, and Best Web Site by various organizations. It is a complete marketing, advertising and design agency - excelling in both traditional and new media.
