  • (1888PressRelease) March 02, 2023 - Women in Cloud (WIC), an economic development organization dedicated to advancing global access for women in the tech industry, has partnered with Avanade, a leading Microsoft solution provider, to deliver their first ever Global Hackathon in honor of International Women’s Day (IWD).

    In alignment with the 2023 International Women’s Day theme #EmbraceEquity, the two-day hacking event takes place March 4-5,2023 and challenges participants to make a genuine human impact for today’s most pressing equity issues with innovative, technical solutions.

    “At Women in Cloud we strongly believe that collective activism is what drives change”, said Chaitra Vedullapalli, President and Co-Founder of Women in Cloud,“We are honored to work with Avanade and other like-minded partners who share our goal of creating a brighter, more equitable future for all.”

    Held in collaboration with Major League Hacking and the International Rescue Committee, the Hackathon criteria is centered around solutions focused on reducing bias and celebrating allyship. More than $10,000 in prizes will be awarded to chosen solutions in each of these categories, with executive leaders from the partnering organizations serving as judges.

    The top prize-winning team will be awarded ‘Best In Show’ and receive $8,500 USDand a 45-minute one-on-one meeting with the Avanade executive leadership team.
