  • (1888PressRelease) May 24, 2011 - Independent rubbish collection company Waste Concern has launched a nationwide survey into consumer views on their local refuse collection services. The survey takes just a few minutes online and gives you the chance to share any household waste problems that you are facing. You also get the chance to enter a prize draw for an iPod Nano.

No purchase is necessary to enter the prize draw; simply complete the confidential survey. Your personal details will not be kept and the results of the survey will remain completely anonymous. Waste Concern explained why they are carrying out the research:

"We have been operating since 2007 to bring customers a more convenient way to manage their household waste. We were founded in direct response to the need for help around restrictions in council rubbish collection services. We are passionate about our responsibility to local communities. We know that preventing unsightly and unsanitary household waste from piling up benefits not only one customer, but all of their neighbours. The survey is to help us build a really clear picture of what people feel about their local services plus any problems they are facing. This will help us provide even more responsive services to help keep neighbourhoods cleaner".

The survey securely gathers a short series of simple, non-intrusive questions. These include quick details on your general location; the age range of household members and whether your home has any pets. It then moves onto the amount of household waste you put out each week; any recycling; and how easy it is to store your rubbish between council refuse collection dates. There is also the chance to share your views on your current local council collections, including any difficulties. Finally, to enter the draw, simply supply an email so that you can be contacted if you are the lucky winner. Waste Concern was keen to stress no-one taking part will be contacted without express permission and emails will not be passed to any third party.

"The survey has been designed with the participant's privacy in mind, and then there's the fun part where you can win the iPod Nano. It also gives people an important opportunity to share any problems they are having with their council rubbish collection services. There is an open ended question there so you can tell us exactly what is happening, in as much detail as you wish. We are always speaking to our customers about their needs, but it's is a way for us to gather more important information to help us better serve the public. We're really excited about it, as we're sure it's going to generate a tremendous amount of very valuable feedback. From this, we will develop more ways to improve life on a very local level".
