  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) April 28, 2009 - Art of Giving 2009: Art Exhibition & Fundraiser will take place at the Student Union in Pratt institute on May 1-2, 2009 at the school's Brooklyn campus. The Exhibition will feature a silent auction of the artworks of Pratt Students and Faculty and all proceeds will be directed to the nonprofit organization, International Action and their Campaign for Clean Water in Haiti. Already, this 5-year campaign has installed over 110 chlorinators in Haiti helping to provide Clean Water to over 400,000 Haitians.     The public can preview the artworks and begin bidding starting Friday, May 1st at 11am through to 6pm and again on Saturday from 11am through to the wrap-up party from 5:30pm to 10pm. The wrap-up party will feature food and live performances by Okai from Regime Change, Reo and more. The suggested admission fee for the event is $5.

    This is the first annual Art of Giving event organized by two Pratt Graduate students as part of their thesis in the Arts & Cultural Management program reflecting their faith that art can make a difference by bringing people together for one common cause. The event is sponsored in part by Glaceau's Smart Water and Pioneer Supermarket.
