  • (1888PressRelease) June 02, 2009 - Boca Raton, FL –Travelpro, the inventor of Rollaboard® luggage and leader in innovative, high-quality luggage design, announced partnering with Airline Ambassadors International (AAI) as the global charity for the company. Travelpro’s new relationship with Airline Ambassadors will include donating large-sized luggage for shipments of medical, clothing, and educational supplies to children in third world countries. “We at Travelpro are proud to partner with such an amazing organization like AAI,” said Scott Applebee, Vice President of Marketing at Travelpro. “AAI really makes a difference in the lives of the people that need it the most,” added Applebee.

Airline Ambassadors International is a not for profit organization established in 1997 to provide humanitarian aid to children and families in need, as well as relief and development to underprivileged communities world wide. AAI began as flight attendants using pass privileges to help children, but quickly expanded to 6,000 members from all backgrounds. It is funded primarily by annual membership fees as well as individuals, foundations, and corporations.

Recognized by the United Nations and U.S. Congress, AAI works with governments, businesses, and other NGO’s to provide direct hands on assistance to those in need. Volunteer teams provide food, clothing, medicine, educational supplies, housing, and disaster relief to children in orphanages, clinics, and remote communities around the world. Members act as a living link between world resource and world need. AAI teams provide assistance in the areas of health, education, food security, child welfare, disaster relief, and community development.

“It’s exciting to partner with Travelpro,” said AAI President, Nancy Rivard, “as Travelpro luggage represents the airline industry, and airline personnel are leading the way in the growing trend of humanitarian tourism.” A new in-flight video on American Airlines highlights Airline Ambassadors, and invites passengers to “travel to make a difference.”
