Top Quote Ulan Bator (US) has a new release on CD called, Praxeology, which literally means 'the study of human action'. And how ironic a title, because it offers you a journey into human existence, through the works of Frank Mazza, the genius behind the band. End Quote
  • (1888PressRelease) January 01, 2012 - After a long-awaited 17 years the alternative rock indie band, Ulan Bator (US), fronted by Frank Mazza, released their 2nd CD - Praxeology- that is packed with 20 tracks of sheer auditory pleasure to satisfy your musical appetite. Don't let the band's name fool you. Although Ulan Bator is also the name of the capital of Mongolia, the band, Ulan Bator (US) hails from New York and New Jersey. Praxeology was intended to be a triple CD with 60 tracks fueled by Frank's prolific song writing. Instead Frank stopped at 20 tracks and completed this project in early 2010. And lucky for us he did. Unfortunately while he was planning a video and his summer tour to share this with the world, Frank died suddenly in May of 2010.

His dream and legacy lives on through Praxeology, which ironically means 'the study of human action'. The songs collectively capture the essence of life. As a veteran of the music industry he touched so many lives with his intellect and creativity that it's not surprising each song offers you a different experience into the many facets of Frank's mind. Each song offers you a new sound and style as it advances you through the journey of life. His writing is unlike any other singer/song writer of his time.

This edgy alternative rock album is as diverse as life itself, with many unpredictable turns. Sometimes dark (Richard Speck's Birthday); sometimes proclaiming the mysteries of someone we can't have (Lady Mystery); sometimes bringing us into another world (Titans of the Wildwood) or dimension (Outer Space Girl). This was Frank's intention.

The main session band members are: Frank Mazza (vocals), Denny Colt (Lead Guitar and an assortment of other instruments), Gene O'Brien (Bass), and Jeff Trupiano (Drums). Denny is now touring with Corky Laing and the Memory Thieves and Gene played and performed in the early years of the Modulators. Frank also invited other musicians to add their special flavor and talents, including Bonnie Parker of the infamous Bonnie Parker Band, who now also tours with Corky Laing and the Memory Thieves. The many session musicians, some of whom were close friends of his, date back decades, but brought a freshness to Frank's musical vision.
Regardless of the space you shared with Frank he was a perfectionist and through Ulan Bator (US)' Praxeology he masterfully takes you into the depths of human existence. After listening you will never be the same.
