  • Philadelphia, PA-NJ (1888PressRelease) October 29, 2007 - The South Camden Theatre Company, a not-for profit theatre located in Camden, New Jersey announces the second play of it's third season; "Marx in Soho" written by Howard Zinn and staring Bob Weick. A limited seat two show performance will be held on Saturday November 10th at 8PM and Sunday November 11th at 1:30PM.

"Marx in Soho" is an excellent introduction to Marx's life, his analysis of society, and his passion for radical change. Marx urgently uses current news and events to show how his ideas still resonate. American education, America’s super rich ruling class, corporate mergers, prisons, and the media are some of the issues Marx confronts during the course of the play. With "Marx in Soho", playwright and historian Howard Zinn shows his characteristic gift at accurately humanizing but not sentimentalizing people most historians ignore at best, or disfigure at worst.

All performances are currently held on stage in the basement of Sacred Heart Church at Broadway and Ferry Avenue in Camden New Jersey where free parking is available. Tickets are $10 and can be reserved by calling the theatre at 856-456-2850.

    About Howard Zinn:

Renowned historian and activist Howard Zinn is widely known for his books "A People's History of the United States," and "The Twentieth Century," to name a few. Professor emeritus at Boston University, Zinn grew up in Brooklyn and worked in the shipyards before serving as an Air Force bombardier in the Second World War. Zinn was the chair of the History Department at Spelman College where he actively participated in the civil rights movement. He now lives in Massachusetts and lectures widely on history and politics.
