  • (1888PressRelease) March 26, 2008 - Orange County, CA - Jeff Cadwell and Cher Ewing, co-hosts of “The New You” Internet Radio Show, are pleased to welcome a special guest on April 2, 2008. Joseph Nadglowski, Jr., President and CEO of Obesity Action Coalition (OAC) and Executive Director of the 2008 Walk from Obesity - Walk on the Capitol, will join them to discuss this history-making event being held in Washington on June 17, 2008.

The Walk on the Capitol is aimed at raising awareness of obesity by bringing together individuals who are affected by obesity to walk together and spread a powerful message to the public and the government of the need for expanded efforts to manage this rising epidemic. “The more patients we unite in our efforts to educate and advocate on behalf of those affected by obesity, the better our chances of changing the negative stigma associated with obesity and increasing access to coverage of safe and effective treatment options,” says Nadglowski.

Nadglowski will also explain the many ways the OAC increases obesity education and awareness, works to improve access to medical treatments for obese patients, advocates for safe and effective treatments, and strives to eliminate the negative stigmas associated with all types of obesity. “Obesity is a complex disease that requires access to treatment to better the quality of health and life of those affected by this disease,” he adds.

Jeff Cadwell and Cher Ewing, “The WLS Coaches,” host one of the most unique weekly radio shows on the Internet. Not only is their program geared specifically to people who have undergone or are considering weight loss surgery, both have undergone this procedure themselves. In addition, Cadwell and Ewing offer their listeners a powerful combination of supportive coaching and information from both the male and female point of view.

Each week, listeners are encouraged to tune in and enjoy the down-to-earth, no-nonsense style of these hosts. Frequent guests include noted physicians, authors, and experts in the area of weight loss surgery.

Cadwell, a veteran of Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery, met his weight loss goal within one year. The California co-host and certified life and wellness coach says, “You may have reached a moment of truth in your life where you feel compelled to move in a new direction. As uncertain as it may seem, it’s as if your life depended on it. For some, that may actually be true. However, if you live without a vision, if you don’t have a plan, if you live every day with the anxiety of what’s to come, it’s easy to lose sight of your own value system.”

Texas co-host, Ewing, who underwent Lap-Band surgery and continues to lose weight says, “As a dedicated and committed health and wellness coach, it is my privilege to help you highlight your potential as you journey toward your most fulfilling life path. I find it an honor and joy to provide coaching as you discover your path to living a joyful and rewarding life after your weight loss surgery.”

According to the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Foundation, of which Nadglowksi is executive director, about 15 million people in the US suffer from morbid obesity. People who are considering weight loss surgery as a tool to help with their own physical and emotional transformation may be at a loss as to where to begin. Others who have already had some form of this surgery may not be getting the emotional support and information they so desperately need to make their transition as successful as it could be.

Stepping in to fill that need is “The New You” Internet Radio Show. With free, live, weekly shows, 24/7 podcasts and phone-in and email capabilities, listeners can interactively participate in such topics as how to keep a daily success journal, handle practical issues with insurance companies, weather the emotional ups and downs of obesity, and stay on track with their weight loss goals.

Neither Cadwell of www.JeffCadwell.com nor Ewing of www.DivineTransformation.net believes that any surgical weight loss patient should have to do it alone. Join their weekly show at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thewlscoaches.
