  • (1888PressRelease) September 20, 2010 - The National Gift Basket Convention & Expo, recently held in July of 2010 in Canton Ohio, will move to new locations in the next two years. Tom & Pam Newell, the founders and managing directors explained the convention will relocate to meet the needs of its attendees and the exploding growth they are currently experiencing. The date and location for the 3rd Annual 2011 convention will be August 4-6th in Columbus, Ohio. "We've outgrown the Canton, Ohio location and want to ensure we have plenty of room to provide a comfortable setting," says Newell. "We're excited to see the amount of growth and interest in the National Gift Basket Convention & Expo and look forward to offering our loyal attendees an even bigger event. We constantly strive to keep it the most affordable convention and will continue to do so."

    And more news, too - Newell also announced that in 2012, the convention will be held in San Jose, California. "We are pleased to share that the convention will be managed by Debbie Quintana in 2012. Debbie showed an interest in hosting it in California and we can't be more delighted to hand the reigns over to her. She has consistently shown her desire to uplift the industry and we are ready to support her."

    When Quintana was asked for comment she responded, "I have some big shoes to fill but our programs will be amazing. This industry deserves it. Tom and Pam are truly the pioneers of the industry and will be a tough act to follow but I've got an amazing team of people to help and of course, Tom and Pam will be assisting us in the transition." Quintana also announced her plans to hold an evening of recognition and acknowledgment of several industry leaders. "They [industry leaders] deserve our respect and acknowledgment and I have every intention of ensuring they get it. We hope to have the opportunity to acknowledge several respected industry leaders."
