  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) February 02, 2017 - Rock icon Prince is a mystery to most fans, celebrities, and industry insiders. The dialogue about Prince through the years is that the talented one let very few into his world. Not only his talent, but his mystique is what made people even more curious about his life behind the music. Whether you knew him as Prince, The Symbol or one of the greatest performers to ever grace a stage; only few knew Prince Rogers Nelson, the soft spoken, humble Minneapolis native.

Devin Devasquez, Playboy Playmate, 2-time Emmy winner, actress, author, philanthropist and someone who married a rock star of her own; shares an interesting take on the difference between Prince the Icon and Prince Rogers Nelson. She is one of the few people who truly knew him and whom he shared a unique bond with. Her new book "The Day It Snowed In April" digs into the height of Prince's career during the "Purple Rain" days, and step by step of how the relationship unfolded. It's an incredible read because throughout the book it develops into the transitions of both of their lives. Imagine being a young girl and the most famous rock star on the planet at the time having a crush on you. Devin's life story is told to perfection through the obstacles during her upbringing, Playboy Playmate days, her love fest with Prince, ex-boyfriends, husbands, and stories of her interaction with other famous stars. Devin transitions from her obstacles to now being happily married to legendary Soap Star and rocker Ronn Moss of Player. The book is a juicy read and very authentic.

"This is my tribute to Prince, giving half of the proceeds from this book to benefit children's education to one of the most recent charities he started, #YesWeCode is my way of keeping his legacy of giving back and helping to make our world a better place as the center stone of his memory."- Devin Devasquez (Author, The Day It Snowed In April)

Devin was inspired to write the book and celebrate his life after she heard the news of his death. Even though she was heart broken, she wanted to show who Prince the person was, and felt it was important to acknowledge her time with him. What is great about the book, is that it introduces the Prince generation to Prince the person, and it introduces the very young generation to both. Prince's music will live on forever and Devin's book release is more than just a good read. Her memoir "The Day It Snowed In April" will remain relevant due to it's authenticity.

"The Day It Snowed in April is one of the best and most moving memoirs I have ever read. Hold on to your hat - it's an exciting and fabulous ride!"- Viki Winterton (Founder and CEO, Expert Insights Publishing)

"Devin takes us back to a magical time in our youth with our friend Prince." - Wally Safford (Prince's Bodyguard/Dancer Sign o' The Times)

"Devin Devasquez takes readers on an intimate, sensitive and courageous journey into the mysterious world of Playmate stardom and her enthralling relationship with Prince. Though Prince died April 21, 2016, he lives on in The Day it Snowed in April. This book is beyond entertainment--it is a must-read, especially for fearless dreamers. This wonderful book is proof that when a mindset for success engages the heart and the mind dreams really can come through."- Cathy L. Greenberg, PhD (Fearless Leaders: Sharpen Your Focus; New York Times Best Selling Author, Top Ranked Radio Host and abc TV's First Lady of Happiness)

The book release celebration will consist of celebrities, industry influencers and will be held at a private residence in Beverly Hills. The event will benefit "Yes We Code" a charity in which Prince started. The soiree will have a purple theme from the carpet, to decorations, to guests in their dress to impress purple attire. Sponsors include Black Horn Imports, Yamaguchi, Black Grid, Swirls Cupcakes, Parfaire, Thinessence, Deliteful, Expert Insights Publishing and more.

As we celebrate a gathering of Devin's good friends and an inspiring Prince tribute, we will never forget the impact that Prince had on each and every single one of us. Devin first hand understands what that impact felt like.

"Prince knew how to party and threw some great after parties that I was privileged to attend during my time with him.
