  • Los Angeles-Long Beach, CA (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2011 - For the past five years, Jewish Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBBSLA) has honored women who have made a lasting impact in the lives of the community's youth and epitomize excellence in mentoring. This year at the Big Dreams luncheon and fundraiser, JBBBS is honoring creative entrepreneur and philanthropist Susan Rothenberg as the recipient of Wonderful Outstanding Women (WOW) Award.

Rothenberg became involved in JBBBS through many of her friends and board members who she considers are her mentors. After many trips to Camp Max Straus, a non-denominational camp owned and operated by JBBBS on 112 acres in Glendale, CA, with the wonderful programs they provide for children, Susan was determined to give more of her time and support to help make a difference in the lives of children in the Los Angeles community.

"I am honored to be a recipient of the JBBBS "WOW" award, said Rothenberg. "I'm extremely proud to be among these women who are recognized for their leadership and philanthropy."

The Big Dreams luncheon is also honoring Lisa Stevens, Executive Vice President, Regional President for California Retail Banking at Wells Fargo with the Community Impact Award and Tessa Kaganoff with the Big Sister of the Year Award.

"We are so delighted to honor these outstanding women from our community, " said Susan Greenberg Kunik, event chair. "Each one exemplifies what JBBBS stands for; commitment, devotion, and the love of children."

The event will be held at the Beverly Hills Hotel on September 27, 2011. To purchase tickets and for sponsorship opportunities, contact Grant Associates at 323-904-4400.
