  • New York, NY (1888PressRelease) March 25, 2009 - Matthew Cossolotto, former aide to House Speaker Jim Wright and Congressman Leon Panetta, today announced the formation of a new nonprofit organization called Study Abroad Alumni International (SAAI).

    “With the world in an almost constant state of chaos and turmoil,” Cossolotto said, “it’s time for an international study abroad alumni organization dedicated to building a community of global citizens.”

    Millions of people from around the world have participated in a wide variety of study abroad programs at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels. Almost universally, participants in these programs report that the experience had a positive and lasting impact on their lives and careers.

    Goals of SAAI include:
    · Provide financial assistance to students to study abroad
    · Highlight the study abroad experience of prominent alumni from all walks of life, including business, government, entertainment, and the arts
    · Establish state and local chapters throughout the United States as well as country chapters around the world
    · Emphasize study abroad ‘role models’ to communicate that study abroad is both a life-enhancing experience and a career boost in our interconnected world
    · Create an active, worldwide community of like-minded global citizens
