  • Las Vegas, NV-AZ (1888PressRelease) January 27, 2010 - Senior Executives from Creativity Made Fresh are excited to announce the release of a new video docudrama that gives black women what they want most for Valentine's Day - ANSWERS about love! Entitled, "The Problem with Loving You," is an edgy and socially relevant forum that was filmed in Las Vegas earlier this year. "We were surprised by some of the more conservative comments yet candid opinions given by black men. And equally surprising was the number of women with a sincere desire to learn about attitudes with respect to loving them," said, Deborah Porter, CEO of Creativity Made Fresh. "While the Obama's have definitely changed our relationship landscape and raised the romance bar, we were astonished to learn that many African-Americans feel the Obamas haven't changed their opinion on black love." Porter stated.

The riveting 40-minute segment is a rare opportunity to hear first hand responses from black men about staggering changes in their dating, love relationships, and their sexual and marital preferences. Footage also includes responses from young African-American teen boys about their views and relationship hopes for the future. According to U.S. census statistics, within the last two generations, marriage rates for African-Americans have dropped significantly. Between 1970 and 2001, the black marriage rate dropped by 34 percent, compared to 17 percent in the general population. Porter, who is African-American says, "In this new age of 'hook-ups' and casual dating, black women are anxious to find out how to break the cycle of single parent homes and the decline of matrimony in our community.

The relationship forum caused many women to take their heads out of sand and face some real issues!" This quest for knowledge and self-enlightenment is what propelled Comedian Steve Harvey's book, "Think Like a Man, Act Like A Lady" to the top of the New York Times best-seller list sending black women clamoring to gain 'inside track' dating secrets. Most of the women attending the taping wanted more dialogue, more insight and interaction with the men. According to Porter, a second relationship forum is already in the works due to the overwhelming response.

From ABC's Nightline's recent report that there are 1.8 million more black men than women, and that one in twelve black women would still be without a husband even if every black man in America married a black woman, to the recent Washington post article, "Successful Black and Lonely," the "The Problem with Loving You" docudrama fleshes out a topic that has ignited the media, the Internet and energized hundreds of blog sites. Proving as Scott Johnson, a participant pointed out, "We have a lot to work on." The DVD retails for $19.99 available through several on-line video sites and at www.creativitymadefresh.com.
