  • San Jose, CA (1888PressRelease) March 18, 2011 - With the advent and prominence of social media RemodelWest has taken the courageous step of launching a new website integrating all the key channels to stay in touch with their customers and to reach out to new ones as well. RemodelWest has always been on the forefront of leveraging new technology to improve the quality of their service and presence in the market but this latest release clearly demonstrates that there is no rest for the weary behind the scenes at this award winning design and construction firm. Founder Bill Reid has built a site that offers some unique features especially in an industry that either depends on make shift sites or sites clearly built with templates and stock photography. In fact Mr. Reid pointed out some competitors sites where it was evident that the pictures displayed were actually not projects that company designed or built.

First visit to the site I quickly noticed a Live Chat Online symbol in the upper right hand corner. Apparently this is a feature where anyone visiting the RemodelWest homepage can chat with Bill or a representative about their project. This can be an easy and comfortable way for people to ask some of the preliminary questions they may have about how to go about remodeling their home and a great way for them to qualify a potential client, send them links to articles and to point them to appropriate sections of the site that a client may be inquiring about. Continuing on through the site a new Portfolio page is the first tab to visit where many of the projects are now displayed that RemodelWest designed and built. Because RemodelWest both Designs and Builds projects it's always a challenge to explain the entirety of the comprehensive services they offer so the Remodeling Services tab was created for people to learn more about each service and how they integrate together within the two companies under the RemodelWest umbrella.

As I scan the home page I quickly noticed fresh new articles listed on the left hand side of the page which I come to find out are blog postings. The company periodically writes about the projects they do, the services they provide and objective articles about the remodeling process. Also within the top navigation bar there is a link to the company Blog where one can browse all the archived articles the company has posted. Reading about real projects is comforting for people considering a remodel and seeing articles like this with before and after pictures really hits home. I then noticed a Reviews tab within the top navigation after visiting this page its clear reviews are now deeply rooted in small business like RemodelWest. In talking with Bill Reid he indicated that it was time to integrate this into our site to let site visitors hear from our customers. On the Review page one can see reviews fed in from Ratepoint and outside source for collecting reviews directly from customers, reviews fed in from Mr. Reid's RemodelWest Linkedin Site and finally links to other prominent review sites such as Yelp, Google and Angies List. Again in reviewing the competitions site reviews can be suspect and Bill suggest that potential remodelers ask about the reviews posted on company websites and if they can contact them directly. I thought this may be quite a bold step but in asking Bill about his position on this he only said that what better way to find out how transparent a company really is. Some sites have friends, family, associates and people that they have never done work for at the company they represent. You will learn real quick whom you're dealing with.

In the body of the Home Page a few other areas represent the way RemodelWest is integrating social media. The companies Facebook page link allows FB users to see the RemodelWest community, possibly join that page and be kept in the loop when it's time to remodel. Further down Bill's Twitter account feed in what's on his mind about home remodeling, special news stories and pictures from the field as projects are being built. Right in between the Facebook link and the Twitter update is the Before and After Gallery. This is actually a link to the newly created YouTube account for RemodelWest. Here Bill updates actual construction progress on jobs. "I'm just getting started on the YouTube page and plan to tell many stories of remodel projects through this channel" says Bill. Finally at the bottom there is a quick and easy way for potential clients to send in a form for a complimentary consultation that ends up directly in Bills email inbox.
