  • Washington, DC-MD-VA-WV (1888PressRelease) November 02, 2017 - Physician and Midwife Collaborative Practice, of Northern Virginia, is thrilled to announce the recent release of the group’s latest patient support application: The Pregnancy Passport. The Pregnancy Passport complements the healthcare services offered by the group with five convenient locations spread out through Northern Virginia (Alexandria, North Arlington, Mt. Vernon, Kingstowne, and Woodbridge). Women can utilize the existing services, including free pregnancy classes, obstetrics, gynecology, midwifery, in-office sonograms, women wellness exams, and 24-7 in-hospital care, in conjunction with the app in order to gain comfort and knowledge during the transition to motherhood.

“We call our app a Passport because in a way you are on a journey of exploration and transformation from which you will emerge changed forever.” Says Dr. David Giammitttorio, P&M CEO. “We encourage you to use our Passport to answer many of the questions that you may have and serve as a springboard for your further education and experience at Physicians & Midwives.”

The app is extremely interactive. Therefore, once you login your specific pregnancy the app will provide weekly updates, allow a place to log your appointments and questions, and have task lists to complete which will help keep you on track with all of the events leading up to your baby’s birth.

The app is available in the iTunes App Store, and Google Play. It features six categories: Pregnancy, Labor & Birth, Postpartum, Breastfeeding, Newborn Care, P&M patient section called “About Us.” Within each section is a wealth of information and tools that helps mom and dads to determine the proper care each step of the way as they build their families. Users can easily determine the growth of their baby at different weeks throughout pregnancy, get tips for each stage of development, track weight throughout pregnancy in order to maintain a healthy balance, and learn when they need to seek advice from their provider.
