PEACH® Responds to Henryville Tornado Disaster

The PEACH® provides a rapid deployment shelter and mobile command center for first responders and emergency crews. In Henryville, this meant volunteers and rescue teams had inflatable tents to use for planning, warmth and nourishment when few structures survived the storm. With the level of destruction brought to Henryville, the organization provided by the PEACH® as a disaster relief center meant teams were there to help rescue, trapped and stranded individuals.

In the first stages of response, On Site Manufacturing set up temperature controlled structures to supply search and rescue personnel and volunteers a warming station for strategy meetings, food and rest. In the second stage of deployment, the PEACH® went to the Health Department headquarters to provide inflatable shelter for inoculations and food distribution. Later on, the system moved to the Henryville-Otisco Pike as a volunteer support facility. The shelter served as an organizational and portable command center for crews still working in Henryville.
