  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) June 15, 2009 - The 2009 Millennium Carillon Summer Concert Series along the Riverwalk in Naperville, Illinois is underway. Talented local, national and international carillonneurs will delight audiences throughout the summer season with an evening of outdoor music each Tuesday evening through August 25; all concerts will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.

    Guests of all ages are invited to enjoy the performances from the lawns surrounding the tower, where picnicking is encouraged. Recitals are held rain or shine, unless there is lightning.

    - June 30: Gert Oldenbeuving, Netherlands
    - July 7: Ray McLellan, Michigan State University

    - July 28: Dennis Curry, Carillonneur Kirk in the Hills Michigan
    - August 4: Ana and Sara Elias, Portugal
    - August 11: Carol Anne Taylor, Cathedral Guadalupe, Texas Carillonneur
    - August 18: Jim Brown, Assistant City Carillonneur Naperville
    - August 25: Julianne Vanden Wyngaard, Grand Valley State University Michigan

    The Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower is a unique, 14-story structure with a 72-bell musical instrument. It was built as a commemorative to the Naperville community to herald the New Millennium. It is referred to as a Grand Carillon because its bells span a full six octaves; it is one of only four Grand Carillons in the world.

    The tower itself and adjacent Visitor Center opened to the public for tours in 2007.

    The Millennium Carillon in Moser Tower is located at 443 Aurora Avenue, near Rotary Hill in Naperville, Illinois.
