The Popes view Kenny’s accident as the start of “the new normal” for them, which, thanks to Shepherd Center and their strong faith - still includes all of the best components of their lives before Kenny’s accident – even birdie putts. • Gainesville, GA (1888PressRelease) September 09, 2009 - GAINESVILLE AREA RESIDENT KENNY POPE’S STORY OF HOPE DEBUTS ON SHEPHERDTV.ORG Kenny & Teri Pope share their story with The Martha Zoller Show Wednesday

Kenny Pope of Flowery Branch, GA is a naturally friendly, optimistic person known in and around Gainesville and north Georgia for his work with church youth and mission groups. Married to his long-time sweetheart, Teri, and employed by AT&T, Kenny has led a life both mentally and spiritually content.

In 2008, he suffered a spinal cord injury during a routine household chore that left him paralyzed. During his rehabilitation process at Shepherd Center, a nationally renowned facility for treating catastrophic spinal cord and brain injuries in Atlanta, Kenny learned that his accident wouldn't stop him from continuing to live a full and productive life. His powerful story of tragedy, rehabilitation and rejuvenation has been chosen as the latest in an ongoing series of uplifting web-exclusive videos titled Stories of Hope, a collaboration between Shepherd Center and KPKinteractive. KPKinteractive’s Atlanta-based production team captured Kenny and Teri on video in 2008 and at their Flowery Branch home in 2009, in addition to interviewing members of Kenny’s care team at Shepherd Center and at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Bill Furbish, Kenny’s AT&T colleague - who is a Shepherd Center graduate himself - is also featured in the video.

In coordination with the video's release this week on www.ShepherdTV.org, Kenny and his wife will be interviewed by guest host Tom Smiley on The Martha Zoller Show, a popular AM radio show in northeast Georgia. Tune in to WDUN News Talk Radio 550 (AM), Wed. Sept 9 @ 10:10 a.m. to hear the Popes talk about their “Story of Hope.”
