  • Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill, NC (1888PressRelease) April 11, 2008 - Hands On Health, LLC is launching its new Integrative Neuromuscular Myofascial Therapy (I-NMT) training program with a series of integrative bodywork seminars for massage therapists, nurses, and physical therapists. The program is designed to offer comprehensive hands-on training in this increasingly popular medical massage technique. According to a recent survey by American Massage Therapy Association (AMTA), the demand for massage services to address pain management, injury rehabilitation, migraine control, and overall wellness now eclipses demand for relaxation.

The first seminar, Integrative Neuromuscular Myofascial Technique, will focus on the anterior neck, internal jaw, and spine. It will be held April 19 to 21, between 8AM and 5PM daily in Raleigh. Laura Landsiedel, one of the company’s founders, and Regina "Gin" McIver will be teaching the seminar. Landsiedel is a nationally certified and licensed massage therapist with advanced certification in St. John neuromuscular massage therapy. In addition to her full-time practice, she developed and currently directs the national continuing education and certification program for Integrative Neuromuscular Myofascial Therapy. McIver is a certified Integrative Neuromuscular Myofascial Therapist and certified Ayurvedic massage therapist at Hands On Health who has assisted with the development of this program.

Practitioners may use the continuing education credits they earn for both the national board and state continuing education requirements. The Hands On Health integrative bodywork seminars are sponsored by the Tree of Life Center, an approved provider for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. Their approved provider number is 312991-00.*

Hands On Health is the only company in North Carolina with a full clinic and educational program for its own therapists as well as the outside community. It was founded by the merger of three women-owned massage practices in 2003 with a vision of raising the status of medical massage therapy to the professional level its practitioners deserve —equal in effectiveness, respect, and education to other established healthcare treatments.
