  • Chicago, IL (1888PressRelease) September 07, 2009 - This new musical tells the story of two childhood friends and how that friendship profoundly defined their lives. Thomas Weaver is a best selling, award-winning author. Alvin Kelby was his best friend for thirty years. But time can test the bonds of friendship – and when it does, Thomas calls on the only resource he has – his stories of Alvin – to learn where things went wrong. A richly melodic musical, The Story of My Life is a soaring tribute to the power of friendship and the people who change our lives forever.

Actor Tanner Spears, will play Alvin Kelby. Spears has had roles in RENT, Jack in Into the Woods, and Anthony in Sweeney Todd. Thomas Weaver will be played by Trace Hamilton who has most recently been seen as Roger in RENT and Tobias in Sweeney Todd. Both actors are Bartlett High School Seniors.

Heading the production is Bartlett High School's Technical Theatre Director and Introspect Theatre's founding artistic director, Jeff Linamen. " The Bartlett High School Theatre Department is totally self-supported," says Linamen. "Under normal circumstances, we would never be able to produce an intimate two character musical".

The Story of My Life is a 90 minute chamber piece with no intermission, where the actors never leave the stage. Introspect Theatre is backing the production to give Bartlett High School and it's two talented actors this special chance.

The Story of My Life, with music and lyrics by Neil Bartram, and a book by Brian Hill, closed on Broadway in February 2009 after a limited run. Introspect Theatre is the first non- equity theatre company to be granted the rights to perform the full version of the show.

Performances of The Story of My Life will be September 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, & 26 at 7 pm. In the Bartlett High School Auditorium 701 Schick Rd. Bartlett, IL 60120.
