  • Bergen-Passaic, NJ (1888PressRelease) October 16, 2009 - The New Jersey Chapter of the American Marketing Association (NJAMA) elected its Board of Directors for the 2009-2010 year. Board members were chosen by a Nominating Committee consisting of current Chapter members and previous year board members.

    NJAMA is the largest association for the marketing professional in the state with close to 400 members in a variety of industries who have expertise in a diversity of marketing practices including marketing research, branding, advertising, and communications. The New Jersey Chapter is part of the national American Marketing Association (AMA), the leading marketing association in North America with nearly 40,000 members. NJAMA conducts an ongoing program of professional development and networking events, designed for both new and experienced marketers and those in related disciplines.

    Many of the Chapter leaders held prior Vice President and committee member roles. The new Board of Directors is:

    President Elizabeth (Liz) Goetz, is the Director of Marketing and Sales for Lion Technology. Liz holds an MA from the University of Delaware and has over 10 years of B2B multichannel marketing expertise.

    President Elect and Vice President of Programming, Sandy Ghezzi, is the Vice President, Marketing, Member Services, and Education for the Craft and Hobby Association. She is a 20-year Fortune 100 marketing management veteran with an MBA from Northwestern University.

    Judith Ottenstroer, Secretary, is a Senior Research Associate with MarketTools. She has worked with various Fortune 500 companies to design and implement enterprise wide solutions throughout her career. She holds a BA in Sociology from Montclair State University and a BS in Statistics from Laureate University.

    The Chapter’s Treasurer, Bob Tabor, is a partner in the accounting firm, Leaver, Gonzalez & Tabor CPAs, and has more than 17 years of experience in accounting, tax, business, and computer consulting. He has a BS from Villanova.

    Susan Root, Vice President of Technology, is the Director, Conference Business Services for IEEE. Susan has held both middle and senior management roles for both Fortune 100 and start-up technology companies. She has an MBA from Colorado State University.

    Marlyne Thomas-Pierce, Vice President of Membership, has a MS in Strategic Communications from Columbia University complimented by over 9 yrs experience as a proven business and marketing leader.

    Vice President of Communications, Melissa Zanardi, is a recent MBA graduate from Fordham University and has 20 years of marketing, management, and sales experience.

    Lynne Mitchnick, Vice President of Sponsorships and Affinity Partners, is President and Owner of MR Solutions, Inc. She holds an MA in Sociology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and has conducted market research in more than 40 countries.

    NJAMA is managed entirely by volunteers who are required to be members of the New Jersey Chapter and parent AMA. Significant opportunities exist for members to join committees that market the Chapter and events, gain sponsors, and drive membership.
