  • (1888PressRelease) December 05, 2009 - Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal has today teamed up with new publishing company, Burgess Publishing -who are publishing a book titled My Helicopter Sunday by Ian Stewart and will donate 20% of the profits from the book to the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal.

Rangers fan, Ian Stewart has collected over a hundred stories from fans all over the world about their experiences of May 22nd 2005. Also included is the experience of helicopter pilot, John McKenzie. The stories which Ian has collected come mainly from members of the popular Rangers fans' site FollowFollow.com, which is also heavily involved in raising money for the RSEA. For that reason Burgess Publishing has decided that 20% of the profits made from the sale of My Helicopter Sunday will be donated to the RSEA.

RSEA Patron and Rangers Hall of Fame inductee, Harold Davis said "As a Rangers and Former Black Watch Soldier I had no hesitation in accepting the the offer from the RSEA of becoming their Patron, in fact I consider it an honour.

I would like to wish Ian Stewart and Burgess Publishing every success with this book, which recounts that day in May 2005, which is now ingrained in Rangers Folklore and which recounts tales from those whom matter most "The People"

I would like to also thank them for the fantastic gesture they have made in offering to donate 20% of sale profits from this book to the wonderful institution that is The Erskine Home through the Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal.

A spokesman for Burgess Publishing said "This is a book which documents the overwhelming emotions allot of fans felt watching their footballing heroes on May 22nd 2005, but those that receive care from Erskine Home, those that risked life and limb for their country are the true heroes in life and deserve the very best care possible after facing the horrors of war"
