  • Akron, OH (1888PressRelease) October 21, 2010 - Muze Gallery announced today the release of "Ohio's Praise" depicting Ohio Stadium in its dedication of October 21, 1922. Artist Muze introduced the Carmen Ohio Series with the publishing of "Seasons Pass" of the legendary Ohio State Football Coach, Wayne Woodrow "Woody" Hayes, in a moment which epitomizes the legendary Hayes in a game which ultimately became his final coaching victory. The oil painting shows Woody Hayes wearing a short-sleeved shirt in the midst of a snow storm in a palette of Scarlet, Gray, Black and White.

Muze's latest published painting, "Ohio's Praise," continues the Carmen Ohio Series with the legendary Ohio Stadium at its dedication. This iconic landmark is painted in a warm palette of Sepia, Black and White with a nostalgic feel. The flags blowing in the cloudy autumn sky atop Ohio Stadium enliven its monumental simplicity and classic severity. This year Ohio Stadium celebrates its eighty-eighth anniversary and serves as a reminder of the vision and courage of Ohio in building Ohio Stadium shown by a young Ohio State University, its alumni and the state at large as collegiate sports were just beginning.

Much of Ohio Stadium's creation can be credited to their first All-American Charles William "Chic" Harley (September 15, 1894 - April 21, 1974). Chic Harley was the first three-time All-American selection honored in 1916, 1917 and 1919. His play captivated large crowds and Ohio Field was overwhelmed with spectators which set the stage for Ohio Stadium, often referred to as "The House that Harley Built." Also known as "The Horseshoe," or simply "The Shoe," Ohio Stadium stands as the greatest collegiate sports cathedral but also as a timelessly hallowed battleground held so sacred by so many.

As The Ohio State University's football program has grown over the years, so has Ohio Stadium. "Ohio's Praise" was inspired by the beauty of Ohio Stadium and trying to capture the glory and pride of Ohio on its historic dedication day," says Muze.

As with Muze's previous Carmen Ohio Series art releases, a portion of the proceeds of "Ohio's Praise" benefits The Ohio State University. "Seasons Pass" also benefits the Woody and Ann Hayes Scholarship fund promoting graduate studies for alumni athletes. "As Coach Hayes said, it is important that each of us pay forward so the charitable aspect of my work is very important to me," said Muze. The first of the editions of "Ohio's Praise" will be donated in celebration of Ohio Stadium's dedication anniversary to various university locations.
